Baton collects only what it needs to connect students who want to sell, swap or share books, and it never sells your personal data. This policy explains what we collect, why, who sees it, and how you can control it.

About this policy

Baton (we) runs the website at baton.company, a student book exchange in India. For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), Baton is the “Data Fiduciary” for the personal data described here.

In short

• You can browse books without an account.
• We collect your details only when you sign up, list a book, or message someone.
• Other users see your listing and your first name, not your phone number (on Baton chat) or email, unless you choose to share them.
• We do not sell your data and we do not show targeted ads.
• Payments to support Baton are voluntary and handled by your own UPI app, not by us.
